In the fall of 2017, I took two courses: Critical Thinking and Creative Thinking in Literature and the Arts. Over the semester, I developed several projects in each course that examined patterns of thinking and applications to the classroom.
Below, I highlight two projects that felt particularly important or instructive to me as I move forward. From Critical Thinking, my second product, which synthesized much of my earlier learning about how to work with people towards identity fulfillment, and from Creative Thinking in Literature and the Arts, two poems that I produced in response to an assignment I developed (also as part of the course) that I gave to students. Both of these represent large departures from previous patterns of thinking or doing that I had before doing these courses.
